Time Fixation

This was a piece i did for an Exhibition I was involved in recently for the Sala (south australian living artists) Festival in Adelaide during July through to August. Sold the specially Framed and printed gallery version on the first night too!
Did all of it from start to finish in PhotoShop CS and CS3 and it took me a month or so working on and off...

ARTISTS STATEMENT:
Were all in a subconscious state of mind, every day of our lives, and were constantly fixated and hypnotised by time. It tells us when to sleep, eat and even when to recreate.
It also has a hypnotic impact on us physically as well as mentally and as time goes on we often forced to rebel by worshipping and craving a ‘timeless’ image.
In the end, it works against us and we eventually run out of time and our minds are put into a state of peace.
I wanted to have a link between time and hypnotism and how time affects us in a subconscious but significant manner, which in similar way, hypnotism does too. There are also other themes, which stem from my main thought. A concept of image and how we are told to look also connects back to hypnotism in this case, as the media and the trivial world act as a metaphorical form of hypnotism by subliminally controlling our perception of ageless beauty and perfection.
